The
popular festive singer from Seville, Aurora Vargas, leads the line-up
at the sixth Festival Flamenco “Ciudad de Lepe” scheduled
for next August 6th. To fill out the week with a flamenco flavor, Jerez
dancer Mercedes Ruíz will offer a dance workshop between August
1st and 5th with the help of the teacher from the local flamenco club
for the lower levels.
Veteran singers Pansequito del Puerto, Aurora’s husband, will also
participate in the festival, in addition to singer José de la Tomasa
and two female voices, those of Argentina and Montse Cortés from
Barcelona, winner of the 2004 Flamenco Hoy prize for best newcomer.
The dance portion of the program will be ably administered by Mercedes
Ruiz and her group.
