SEPTEMBER 14, 2005 . ¡flamenco! SAVES THE CHILDREN AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL
A night of high energy and
passion is guaranteed when ¡flamenco! comes to the Royal Albert
Hall on Wednesday 14 September on behalf of Save the
Children.
The
night is produced by Moya Cruz Productions who have pledged to donate
100% of the profits to the charity. The Royal Albert Hall will explode
with some of Spain's hottest, most exciting acts including award-winning
gypsy singer Diego El Cigala, pianist Dorantes, singers Cantores
de Hispalis, guitarists Juan Carmona and Marcus Nand, dancer Joaquín
Grilo and Alma Flamenco Dance Company featuring Ramon Ruiz.
¡flamenco! will be an opportunity for businesses
to provide more unusual corporate entertainment than the traditional hospitality
events. Companies who feel they have taken guests to Henley, Ascot and
Queen's just one time too many will be delighted to know that something
fresh is on offer. The corporate packages are managed by BEYOND events.
Modish Spanish influences have begun to penetrate the cognoscenti in
the UK. This is reflected in restaurants such as Moro and Fino which are
attracting a fashionable crowd and also seen at Brindisi's in London's
trendy Borough Market. Now it is the turn of the pulsating rhythms of
flamenco guitarists and dancers. Always ahead of the pack, Posh threw
a flamenco fuelled party for David Beckham's 30th birthday – so
it is official that Flamenco is the next big thing.
Walter Cruz, who is responsible for bringing the artists to Britain:
“I just love Flamenco; I dare you to sit down. It's great to combine
a worthwhile cause with something you really enjoy – why should
giving be dull?”
