The 30th edition of the International Flamenco Fashion Show (SIMOF) concluded with a remarkable 7% increase in attendance compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 60,000 visitors. Recognized as the world’s largest showcase for flamenco fashion, the event attracted spectators from across Spain and abroad.
From Thursday to Sunday, the Sevilla Conference and Exhibition Center (Fibes) hosted 49 runway shows featuring over 100 designers who presented a total of 1,625 designs, blending Andalusian craftsmanship with innovation in the industry. The commercial area, which included more than 100 exhibitors, experienced a 10% growth compared to the 2024 edition.
Raquel Revuelta, CEO of the Doble Erre agency and co-organizer of the event, highlighted SIMOF’s consolidation as a key platform for the industry: “These have been four days of emotions and celebration for these 30 years of revolutionizing flamenco fashion. It has become a true international fashion week, with runway shows and activities that strengthen the sector’s growth.”
2025 Trends: Sleeves and Necklines Take Center Stage
This edition’s proposals embraced lighter and more comfortable designs, with a focus on two-piece outfits—blouses and skirts or pants—adapted for various occasions. Traditional craftsmanship took the spotlight with crochet, lace, transparencies, and embroidery, incorporating urban fashion elements such as shoulder pads, bows, and belts.
In terms of color palettes, earthy and green tones stood out, with a strong presence of browns, while petroleum blue and navy blue gained traction. Meanwhile, iconic colors like fuchsia, red, white, and black played a more subtle role.
SIMOF’s artistic director, Pedro González, emphasized that “creativity has shifted from skirts to the upper part of the flamenco dress, with special attention to sleeves and necklines.” Accessories also took on new prominence, with oversized earrings and flowers making a statement, as well as the return of the classic beaded necklace in coral and vibrant colors.
A Key Event for Andalusian Talent
SIMOF’s 30th anniversary was attended by renowned figures, including actress Paz Vega as the honorary patron and singer Pastora Soler as the event’s ambassador. Soler, who is also celebrating 30 years in her career, performed the Anthem of Andalusia at the inauguration, which was attended by the mayor of Seville, José Luis Sanz.
Angie Moreno, delegate for Tourism and Culture at the Seville City Council, highlighted the event’s significance: “SIMOF is not just a runway show; it is an economic driver and a showcase of Andalusian talent. Flamenco fashion creates jobs, boosts tourism, and strengthens the city’s business fabric.”
