My flamenco year 2017

Another year is coming to an end, 2017, and it's time to take stock of everything experienced and enjoyed flamenco-wise throughout the last twelve months. How was the year for you?

#miAñoFlamenco 2017

Each year we do a summary of flamenco happenings reported on in our magazine: festivals we’ve attended and told you about, noteworthy concerts and recitals, new record releases, shows, artists who stood out in some way, and also those who left us.  And yes, it’s always incomplete, there’s always more to tell, because each individual has had different experiences and opportunities, seen different concerts, heard different recordings of different interpreters and been to different festivals.

This time we want you… flamenco fans and the flamenco community in general…to be the ones who tell us what festivals you’ve attended throughout the year, the concerts you especially enjoyed and recordings you liked best.  And while you’re at it, let us know your expectations for flamenco in this year 2018 about to begin.

In these final days of 2017, and the beginning of 2018, we would like to have your participation.  We’re opening a campaign on our Facebook page asking you to tell us about your #miAñoFlamenco to share your thoughts about flamenco over the past year.

In order to participate, all you have to do is relate, on your Facebook wall, how you’ve experienced flamenco in 2017, labeling our page #Deflamenco.com and using the hashtag for the campaign #miAñoFlamenco.  We would also like you to invite at least two friends to talk about their flamenco year 2017 as well.

Among all the participants who manage to get the two friends to also participate in the campaign, we’ll raffle several double tickets (depending on the participation) for concerts, festivals, tablaos, etc., which winners can choose from among various options, depending on the possibility of seeing flamenco in their city, or events they might attend during 2018.

We’ll also talk about our flamenco experiences in 2017, each one with his or her point of view, in addition to inviting other members of the flamenco community to participate…fellow journalists, artists, programmers, flamenco associations or peñas, tablaos, etc.

What good are summaries?  The important thing is what you’ve experienced…will you share it with us?
