Presentation of the Flamenco Festival USA / Flamenco Festival LONDON

With this edition that begins on February 12th, it’s been nine years of Flamenco Festival which this year travels to Washington, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami and London over a period of six weeks.

The high-powered program includes Dorantes-Arcángel, Isabel Bayón’s company, the Antonio Gades Company (celebrating the 25th aniiversary of the creation of “Carmen”), Estrella Morente, Los Farruco, Merche Esmeralda-Belén Maya-Rocío Molina-Diana Navarro (“Mujeres”), Eva Yerbabuena and the Ballet Nacional de España under the direction of José Antonio celebrating their 30th anniversary.

Performances will take place at key places such as Carnegie Hall and New York’s City Center, as well as Sadler’s Wells in  London, and there will be 39 performances of nine different shows.

“Andalucía Lounge” at City Center. Free guitar classes before the show in the lobby of the theater to orient the audience to flamenco via flamenco dance.

February 16th – Projection of “La Ética y la Danza” by Juan Caño. Presented by Eugenia Eiriz,
Director of the Antonio Gades Foundation.  A moving biographical journey narrated by the late dancer himself.

LONDON (Cervantes Institute)
March 18th – Opening of the Antonio Gades Exposition.  Presented by Eugenia Eiriz, director of the Antonio Gades Foundation.
March 20th – Projection of “La Ética y la Danza” by Juan Caño.
