From August 26th to 30th the Ist Symposium of Arte Flamenco in Memory of the great maestro Sabicas, at the Baluarte and at the Pamplona Planetarium.
Lectures, workshops, master classes, an exhibition and documentary screenings.
The Symposium begins with a overview of the contribution of gypsies to flamenco, and to music in general, and goes on to delve into the figure of a gypsy interpreter of flamenco from Navarra, the maestro Sabicas, with a special nod to a central person in his career, dancer Carmen Amaya.
There will also be an exposition revolving around Enrique Morente and a documentary program featuring others who were pivotal in the life of Sabicas such as Camarón and Paco de Lucía in addition to Carmen Amaya.
