Flamenco Festival 2010

The Flamenco Festival celebrates ten years in the spotlight of world culture

he festival will take place from February 6th to 23rd in New York, Washington, Miami, Boston, Vancouver and Chicago with performers like María Pagés and Israel Galván

London celebrates the 8th edition of the festival from February 13th to 27th with Eva Yerbabuena, Rojas and Rodríguez and Belén López.

This year marks a decade of programs of the Flamenco Festival in the United States to be held between February 6th and 23rd in New York, Washington, Miami, Boston, Vancouver and Chicago, joined by the 8th edition of the London Flamenco Festival from February 13th to 28th.

Todo Cambia, “everything changes”, is the motto for the tenth anniversary and we’ve put together a program that shows international audiences the new tendencies and the most contemporary and avant-garde flamenco work.  Performers have been chosen who have helped create new horizons and reinvent our best-known artistic expression: María Pagés with Autorretrato and Israel Galván with La Edad de Oro will bring their shows to the United States, while Eva Yerbabuena with Lluvia, Rojas and Rodríguez with Cambio de Tercio and Rafaela Carrasco with Vamos al Tiroteo will go to London.

Following the theme of Todo Cambia, this year’s festival is showcasing the youngest flamenco starts, the most recent links in the chain who are moving with great momentum to push flamenco to a new focus.  The show Todo Cambia with Rocío Molina, Manuel Liñán, Pastora Galván and Belén López inaugurates the Festival at the Boston Opera House before going on to Washington, D.C., Miama and finally New York legendary City Center.

Marina Heredia and the the Orquesta Chekhara Andalusí of Tetuán, Córdoba guitarist José Antonio Rodriguez with dancer Dani Navarro and the mixed group Canteca de Macao will bring these new flamenco sounds to different spots in the Big Apple.
