Tomatito and Argentina are the stars for a weekend of flamenco in Catalunya.
- On Friday the 26th guitarist Tomatito will perform at the Teatre Joventut de L’Hospitalet de Llobregat at 9:00pm
- On Saturday the 27th, Argentina will present her new show at the Teatre Zorrilla in Badalona at 9:00pm
This musician has fused flamenco with jazz as never before, he interprets pure flamenco introducing the most liberal parameters of the genre. He stretches the phrases, he disconnects them and puts them back together, he dresses flamenco chords in jazz and brings them back to reality. Each form sounds like what it’s supposed to be, in the most flamenco sense. His clear straightforward interpretations are perfectly understood. His soleá is soleá, the bulerías are bulerías…everything perfect…
Argentina is beginning the presentation of her new recording in this series Catalunya Arte Flamenco. A voyage through cante that takes us through the many forms of flamenco, some of which are seldom heard, and others which are more current. All wrapped in the magical ambience of traditional flamenco, with ancestral sounds and the limitless commitment and respect of a singer motivated by this artform.
Argentina’s dedication to the art of flamenco can be heard on this record and in this concert, work which took endless hours of investigation to reach a higher understanding of the genre that so fascinates her. The itinerary for this virtual tour makes it an intense experience full of energy – the listener feels immersed in the innumerable paths that lead to the enjoyment of flamenco.
