Fiesta de la Buleria 2018

More than 70 performers at the Alameda Vieja of Jerez, and 3 shows, “El Río de la Bulería”, “Jerez con Japón” and lastly, “Jerez Canta a Manuel Moneo” with which Jerez will pay tribute to the figure of Manuel Moneo.

Jerez Mayoress Mamen Sánchez was in charge of presenting the 51st edition of the Fiesta de la Bulería, accompanied by the artistic directors of the three programed shows, Curro Carrasco, David Lagos and Manuela Carpio.

The Fiesta de la Bulería isn’t just three shows, but a program that runs from August 20th to 25th with numerous activities related to bulerías such as courses, daytime experiences, a flashmob and an artisan market of flamenco-related items.

The music director of the Fiesta de la Bulería Joven, “El Rio de la Bulería”, Curro Carrasco, pointed out that “we’ve put all our heart into this show in which we will not only offer youthful flamenco, but current flamenco as well. And we have the collaboration of Juan Herrera, an individual steeped in the world of television and shows”. David Lagos who, along with Javier Latorre, is the artistic director of the show “Jerez con Japón”, emphasized that “this is a very nice opportunity to pay tribute to a country that is always looking towards our art, making it a part of their own culture. We feel this is a magnificent chance to bring these two cultures together”.

Manuela Carpio, in charge of the show “Jerez Canta a Manuel Moneo”, showed her enthusiasm and excitement about the project. “It was very hard deciding on which artists would make up the show, because in Jerez there’s an impressive number of first class artists. But I think a tribute to Manuel Moneo should include the purest and most gypsy essence of the bulería”.
