From ? to !

It’s impossible to attend innovative shows without a certain question mark hanging over your head that approaches fear; there are so many failures, disasters even.  But when you get good vibes from the outset, and there is a constant flow of beauty, and it just keeps coming, the unquestionable beauty of a work that manages to unite two cultures and two eras in the most exquisite way, the initial question mark fades away and gradually becomes an exclamation mark of admiration.

Authenticity.  Pure art.  A work which is magnificently put together, that knows how to develop within an equilibrium that is never lost, harmonies perfectly administered, surprises, silences, changes, individual interpretations, everything, and in this way achieving an intense climate with moments of high emotion.

Arcángel’s voice, so full, approaching maturity and offering a kind of deep song which at the same time “flies”.  A wealth of good taste without being over the top at any point.  He achieves a sleek modern sound that continues to be authentic.  Intelligence and talent to be himself within his music.

Intelligence and talent that were also on display from the musicians that accompanied him: the extraordinary flautist and true artist Theodosii Spassov, the very flamenco, yet modern guitar of Dani de Morón, the superb non-intrusive percussion (as Arcángel pointed out in the presentation) of Agustín Diassera and the magnificent, always flamenco Yelsy Heredia on upright bass.

From here a message to Arcángel: you’re on the right track, and if you keep being sincere, giving what you have, you won’t have to be worried about a thing.  The purest kind of flamenco is in you, and the desire to evolve and “air out” your singing must never be put aside because you are completely capable.  You are doing it magnificently.  The entire audience barely dared to breathe while listening to you, and effusive applause demonstrated it.
