XIX Festival Flamenco Caja Madrid 2011

The program of the much-awaited Festival Flamenco Caja Madrid 2011 has been announced. After several changes of venue in recent years, this 2011 edition returns to the Teatro Circo Price and is dedicated to the memory of Enrique Morente who was outstanding in the 2010 edition.

Miguel Poveda opens the festival, and Carmen Linares is bringing her show devoted to Miguel Hernández. Juan Valderrama, along with Paco del Pozo, Luis de Córdoba and Marina Heredia will be responsible for cante flamenco. Tomatito is the guitar star, and Manuela Carrasco, who will receive the festival?s honor “Puerta de Alcalá”, is the main dance figure.

A first-class program once again to fill the Teatro Circo Price each day. Madrid flamenco fans are also grateful for the parallel activities prior to the festival held in the Casa Encendida and which this year include recitals, conferences and book presentations.
