On the stage of Las Tendillas the dancer will open the event that also includes Niña Pastori, José Mercé, Arcángel, María Toledo, Tomasito, Diego Carrasco and the winners of the twentieth Córdoba flamenco contest.

The Noche Blanca del Flamenco reaches its seventh edition this year with a fine line-up of artists.  The night of June 21st will bring together the most noteworthy stars of this art-form.  A total of nine venues in different areas of downtown Córdoba will receive a variety of large format shows and once again fill the streets and plazas of the city until well past dawn.

The big flamenco night starts off with Sara Baras.  The Cádiz dancer, who participates this year for the first time, will  appear on the stage of the Plaza de Las Tendillas to present her show “Suite Flamenca, a production created specifically for the Noche Blanca del Flamenco.  She will be accompanied by her group and the Córdoba dancer José Serrano who appears as guest artist.  The show, directed by the dancer herself, will be presented as a concert and offer a historic journey through the most representative forms of flamenco, guided by the music.

The second premiere of this year’s program is Arcángel’s.  The singer, who is appearing in this event for the second time, is debuting his new show in Spain, “Estruna”, presented last year in Bulgaria along with the Nuevas Voces Búlgaras “Laletata”, which represents a point of encounter between traditional Bulgarian music, flamenco and jazz.

The Corredera plaza will again resound with the art of Jerez singer José Mercé, without a doubt one of the most important singers of current flamenco.  His concert will include pieces from his most recent recording, “Mi Única Llave”, as well as other great hits of his such as “Aire”, “Del Amanecer” and “Al Alba”.

Another artist returning to the Noche Blanca is Niña Pastori who will be presenting her new recording “Raíz”.  The Patio de los Naranjos will be the venue for the presentation of this new release scheduled to come out April 1st.

Pianist María Toledo is another new item on this seventh program.  The artist will appear in the Plaza de Jerónimo Páez alongside the Archeological Museum where people will be able to enjoy her suggestive singing.  The relationship between Arabic and flamenco music will again be evident in the Plaza de Abades thanks to a new production of the Casa Arabe which this year is inviting participating artists from the first edition of their Escuela de Música Árabe-Flamenco.

The surrounding area of the Calahorra will again be used after several editions of inactivity.  On this occasion the winners of the twentieth Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba, guitarist Niño Seve, singer Manuel Cástulo and dancer Mercedes de Córdoba are scheduled to perform.

And lastly, the fun-loving Street flamenco of Jerez with Tomasito and Diego Carrasco.  The former will occupy the stage of the Plaza del Potro, and the latter will offer the closing fiesta of an intense night with his concert “Hippytano” in the Plaza del Triunfo.
