From October 1st to 9th, the eighth edition of the Festival Bilbao Flamenco Jaialdía will be held at the Teatro Campos Elíseos.
A very well-balanced program that includes flamenco singing, guitar and dance. On Thursday, October 1st, with the guitar of Manuel Parrilla presenting his show “Pa mi Gente”, that includes pieces from his latest record released before the summer. He'll be followed by singer Carmen Linares with her show “Remembranzas” on October 2nd.
On October 7th, Lole Montoya will offer “Lole en Concierto” with the collaboration of Alba Molina. Thursday the 8th, is Gerardo Núñez in his “Reunión Flamenca” with the participation of dancer Carmen Cortés.
In the parallel activities, an illustrated talk will be given by Ricardo Pachón on Camarón de la Isla titled “Camarón Nuestro” on Tuesday, October 2nd. During the Festival, a photo exhibition will be on display at the Hall del Teatro, the work of Diego Gallardo titled “FLAMENCAS CON VOZ”.
In dance, two large format companies will appear at the festival, the Compañía Antonio Gades with their show “Fuego” inspired by Manuel de Falla's “Amor Brujo”, on October 3rd, and the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía with their most recent show, “Imágenes” awarded the Giraldillo for best show at the 18th Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla closing out the festival on October 9th.
The festival has continuity throughout the rest of the year with the Trasnoches Flamencos that each month bring major flamenco artists to hotels and clubs of the city.
