The 15th edition of one of the most important series for young flamenco artists has just begun, scheduled to take place from July 22nd to August 15th at the Corral del Carbón in Granada.
The Teatro de la Zambra has once again organized its flamenco series, a regular summer staple in Granada for flamenco fans and upcoming artists, a referential festival that is the ideal showcase for breaking into the world of flamenco performance.
The organization had to eliminate five shows due to the last minute cancelation of support from the Culture Ministry, leaving a balance of eleven shows this year.
Seville dancer Rafael Campallo is in charge of opening the first week, followed by Paloma Fantova and Japanese artista Eiko Takahashi.
The second week features Granada dancer Ivan Vargas with the premiere performance of “Yo Mismo”, and the dancing of Alberto Sellés with the collaboration of Javier Barón. Guitarist David Carmona closes out the second week with a flamenco guitar concert titled “Concierto del Milenio” with guest artist Granada dancer Patricia Guerrero.
August 5th and 6th, dancers Alba Heredia and Ana Cali will each present their shows.
Lastly, on August 13th, Ana Morales will present her show RecilARTE”, and on the 14th, there will be a cante recital with young José Enrique Morente and his uncle Antonio Carbonell. Closing out the series, Jerez dancer Joaquín Grilo will put the icing on the cake at the Corral del Carbón.
A high-level of artists and venue makes the trip to Granada worthwhile.
