At 4 in the morning on August 13th the names of the winners of the 57th edition of the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas de La Unión were make known.

GROUP I: MINING CANTE

A) Lámpara Minera Prize, with corresponding trophy, the festival’s highest award, with fifteen thousand euros, for singer Alfredo Tejada.
B) Mineras: First Prize, with six thousand euros, for Alfredo Tejada.
C) Cartageneras: Prize with three thousand euros for Singer Alfredo Tejada.
D) Tarantas: Prize with three thousand euros for singer Esther Merino.
E) Murcianas and other mining songs (tarantos, levantica, fandangos mineros…..). Prize with three thousand euros went unawarded.

GROUP II: SONGS OF MÁLAGA, GRANADA, CÓRDOBA AND HUELVA

A) Malagueñas: Prize with three thousand euros, for singer Anabel de Vico.
B) Other songs, went unawarded.

GROUP III: CANTES OF LOWER ANDALUCÍA

A) Tonás, siguiriyas, livianas and serranas, Prize with three thousand euros, went unawarded
B) Soleares, bulerías por soleá, cañas y polos, Prize with three thousand euros, for singer, Alfredo Tejada for his soleá.
C) Bulerías, cantiñas, tangos, tientos, peteneras, farrucas, fandangos personales, with three thousand euros for singer Alfredo Tejada, for his farruca.

YOUNG SINGERS

The special prize for young singers, with three thousand euros, went unawarded.

XXXVIII GUITAR CONTEST

First Prize, with 6.000 euros and trophy Bordón Minero for guitarist Alejandro Hurtado García.
Second Prize, with 3.000 euros shared by guitarists David Cederreduela and Luis Medina.

XXIV DANCE CONTEST

First Prize, with nine thousand euros and trophy “El Desplante” for dancer Fernando Jiménez.
Second Prize, with four thousand five hundred euros for Macarena Ramírez Cepero.

VII FLAMENCO INSTRUMENTALIST

First Prize, with six thousand euros and trophy “El Filón” for flautist Sergio de Lope.
Second Prize, with three thousand euros for pianist Pablo Suárez.
