José Mercé and Cristina Hoyos are featured on a flamenco stamp.

October 11th, 2006 is the issue date for a special numbered postage stamp which features flamenco. All orders sent from Deflamenco via the postal service will bear these stamps!

For the World Philatelic Expo 2006 being celebrated in Málaga,
the Spanish postal authorities have put out a special issue of 500.000
blocks of stamps devoted to the world of flamenco.

The people chosen for the stamp are singer José Mercé and
dancer Cristina Hoyos who presented it at the stand of the Spanish post
office within the exposition on October 11th. The stamp has a face value
of 2.33 Euros and the image shows the forearm and hand of a dancer carrying
out a typical move, as well as the names of both artists and the emblem
of the exposition.

Cristina Hoyos was pleased to form part of this event, both on a personal
level, and for flamenco, in addition to being able to share the honor
with José Mercé. For his part, the singer said he was glad
to participate in this initiative and considered it an honor to work with
Cristina whom he considers to be the best.

Hoyos expressed the need to have flamenco declared a world heritage
since millions of people all over the world are flamenco fans.

DeFlamenco.com will be using these complete special stamp-blocks
to send all orders sent through the post office to any part of the world.
Orders shipped via Express-24 hours for amounts over 100 Euros will also
receive the stamp-block, uncancelled, free of charge. As long as supply
lasts!
