Special 19th Festival de Jerez – All the information

The Cátedra de Flamencología de Jerez has awarded the Critics' Prize to dancer Israel Galván for his show “Fla.co.men”, which was performed in the Villamarta Theater on February 22nd, the principal stage of the 19th Festival de Jerez which ended on March 7th.  This recognition is backed by the votes of official media of the festival devoted to flamenco and Spanish dance.

The decision was made public after a meeting held several days ago with the subdirector of the institution, Manuel Pérez Celdrán, and the head of public relations for the Cátedra, José Marín Carmona.  The sole purpose of the meeting was to tally the votes of the specialized critics, and to determine the winner of the award for the artist or show that received the most votes for participation in the recent edition of the Festival de Jerez.

Israel Galván was the winner of the Silver Wineglass, and a plaque presented each year by the Cátedra de Flamencología de Jerez, with the sponsorship of the Consejo Regulador de las Denominaciones de Origen Jerez-Xeres-Sherry, Manzanilla de Sánlucar y Vinagre de Jerez.

David Lagos, Tomás de Perrate, Eloisa Cantón, Caracafé, Juan Jiménez Alba y Antonio Moreno of Proyecto Lorca, made up the cast that accompanied Israel Galván on-stage for this winning show.
