'Paco de Lucía: fuente y caudal del flamenco

His
improvised rumba “Entre dos Aguas” recorded thirty years ago
marked a before and after in flamenco, in the same way that his equally
famous buddy Camarón did with La Leyenda del Tiempo. The shared
vision and musical sensibility of these two left a very pronounced peak
on the graph of twentieth century musical history.

But the 26 records that make up the collection go much further back, to
1964 when a 16-year-old Paco de Lucía recorded some discreet and
classic compositions in duo with the Madrid guitarist Ricardo Modrego,
work which scarcely foretold of the revolution the youngster was about
to trigger.
The collection includes two books, in English and Spanish, a biography
of Paco de Lucía, and in CD format a listener's guide to the more
than 250 pieces, by José Manuel Gamboa and Faustino Núñez.

Rounding-out and complementing this audio documentation is the documentary
in DVD about Paco de Lucía. Produced by ALEA TV together with TVE
and ARTE, director Daniel Hernández offers an intimist vision of
the maestro secluded in his retreat in the jungles of Yucatan, on European
tour, or relaxing with his family, and includes commentary by the guitarist's
friends such as Vicente Amigo and Tomatito.

Double
