On Friday, December 23rd, the series Flamenco Viene del Sur 2007 with performances scheduled in theaters of the Andalusian regional government in Seville, Granada and Málaga respectively, was presented in Seville
Paco Cepero, Antonio Canales,
José Mercé among others are slated to participate in the
2007 edition, and 25 performances have been programed between the three
theaters. Rosa Torres of the Culture Department, and Bibiana Aido, director
of the Agencia de Flamenco presented the program along with several of
the participating artists. It is hoped the program will be taken to other
provinces of Andalusia and other regions as well, in order to promote
a stable calendar of flamenco on a national level. Let’s hope that
objective is achieved.
