Flamenco Festival París.

From May 3rd to 13th the Chaillot National Theater will present the shows selected by «Flamenco Festival» which recently went to the US and London.

Flamenco Festival París kicks off with the Ballet Nacional de España
which under the direction of José Antonio will presenta triple
program that will include “La Leyenda”, an emotional tribute
to the great Carmen Amaya.

Women will have a central role in the festival. Mayte Martín and
Belén Maya with their “Flamenco de Cámara” offer
a sober, straightforward program, a sincere work, delicate and exquisitely
presented with no superfluous elements. Esperanza Fernández and
Inés Bacán are preparing a special show with the title “Voces
de Lebrija” with the best of these two strong singers.

After her recent tour of Asia and Oceanía, Eva Yerbabuena (Premio
Nacional de Danza) will bring her show “A Cuatro Voces” to
París, a work which earned her the Max prize for Best Female dancer.

The festival is bringing to París some of the most successful
shows of the US and London tour such as “Gala flamenca de Andalucía”,
which presents a traditional vision of flamenco with the great maestros
Merche Esmeralda and Manolo Marín, along with the youthful exuberance
of dancer Rafael Campallo and the elegance of Javier Barón.

The Festival closes with two gala presentations: the voice of José
Mercé with his new recording “Lo que no se da”, and
the dance of Antonio el Pipa who was acclaimed in New York for his show
“De Tablao”.
