THE CERTAMEN COREOGRÁFICO of the Tetuán District was created with the objective of enhancing and promoting artistic creation, investigation and innovation in dance, and to create a platform of encounter.

Under the auspices of the Centro Cultural “Eduardo Úrculo”, the DISTRITO DE TETUÁN has done outstanding work in recent years in support of the dance sector.  Two resident dance companies are hosted: Teresa Nieto en Compañía, and Daniel Doña Compañía de Danza Española, in addition to offering temporary residences to numerous choreographers in all disciplines who enjoy a space in which to create and rehearse, as well as a point of encounter for Madrid dancers and a variety of programs.
Teresa Nieto and Daniel Doña, directors of the center’s resident companies, are the creators and organizers of this choreographic event, in collaboration with the Distrito de Tetuán.  The initiative represents a step forward for the “Eduardo Úrculo Cultural Center” in making it a reference in the area of dance.
