A novel project designed to cultivate and promote
interest in flamenco is underway in Andalusia as of last month.
Known as “The Routes to Flamenco”, the undertaking
organized by Spain’s Ministry of Tourism under the auspices
of the Junta de Andalucía and Turismo Andaluz is a
series of tourist routes that combine an excursion through
the most towns most important in the history of flamenco,
with introductory conferences, lecture-demos and live shows.
As an added attraction, all the events are being held in typically
Andalusian surroundings such as flamenco clubs, wineries,
ranches, etc.
Two of the routes are now being offered free of charge
with the following scheduled activities:
