The 24th edition of Flamenco Festival New York, taking place from March 5 to 15, will honor Federico García Lorca’s journey to the Big Apple in 1929. With a diverse and vibrant program, the event will bring together over 70 artists from 12 companies in 26 performances across New York, Miami, Chicago, and San Francisco. This edition aims to highlight the fusion between tradition and modernity within flamenco, reflecting the evolution of this art form over the decades.
Leading Figures of Granadan Flamenco
Prominent flamenco dancers such as Manuel Liñán, Patricia Guerrero, Eva Yerbabuena, Sara Jiménez, and Alfonso Losa will take the stage, accompanied by renowned voices like Marina Heredia, Kiki Morente, and El Turry. The lineup also includes celebrated guitarists such as Carlos de Jacoba and the innovative Granadan duo La Plazuela. These artists represent both the legacy of classical flamenco and the most avant-garde proposals.

Expanding to New Disciplines
For the first time, the festival will include performing arts beyond traditional flamenco. The company Zen del Sur, specializing in the fusion of circus and dance, will present “Órbita”, while the Teatro Repertorio Español will stage a performance of Lorca’s “La casa de Bernarda Alba”. This expansion aims to bring flamenco to new audiences and explore its interaction with other forms of artistic expression.
Parallel activities, such as roundtable discussions and conferences on Lorca’s influence on flamenco, as well as documentary screenings exploring the relationship between literature and flamenco music, will also take place. These initiatives seek to contextualize the festival’s relevance within the contemporary cultural landscape.

Performances will be held at iconic venues such as the New York City Center, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and the Kaufman Music Center. The festival will open with “Lorquianos” by Kiki Morente and Carlos de Jacoba, a flamenco reinterpretation of Lorca’s poetry. Other notable performances include “Alter Ego” by Patricia Guerrero and Alfonso Losa, “Muerta de Amor” by Manuel Liñán, and “Yerbagüena (oscuro brillante)” by Eva Yerbabuena.
