Parallel activities
This nineteenth edition of the Festival of Mont de Marsan also included a series of interesting parallel activities. Dance, guitar and rhythm workshops brought French young people to the art of flamenco. Among the teachers were Rocío Molina, Rafaela Carrasco, Fuensanta la Moneta and Marcos Vargas in dance, and Daniel Méndez and Eugenio Iglesias in guitar.
A series of conferences included Fernando Gonzalez on the nature of the fiesta flamenca, Olga de la Pascua, director of the Centro Andaluz de Flamenco explained the institution’s holdings. The rector of the Unia, José Manuel Suárez Japón, offered his particular vision of Andalusian authors, and Algeciras writer Juan José Téllez studied flamenco poetry. It was all rounded out with a photographic exhibition by Paco Sánchez.
