José Mercé
José Mercé offered a recital divided in two parts, as is his custom, the first, made up of cante from Jerez: siguiriyas, soleá, alegrías, fandangos and malagueñas, accompanied by his inseparable Moraíto. In the second part he served up the commercial end of his repertoire, also worthy of mention as he is situated in the top 10 of national recordings of all time.
The proof is in his “Grandes Éxitos” which was recently released and is breaking sales records in the history of flamenco recording. Backed up by Moraíto and Keko on guitar, Juan Parrilla on flute, Manolo Niego on bass, Güito on percussion and O’Hara Soto and Marceliino Fernández on rhythm, the audience was treated to truly wonderful moments.
