JAVIER BARÓN "MERIDIANA"
Seville dancer Javier Barón brought his show Meridiana to the festival. With no plot other than the music itself, his flamenco dance company, ably backed-up by guitarists Javier Patino and Daniel Méndez, violinist Alexis Lefevre and percussionist Tino Di Geraldo. The singing was also of high quality with the voices of Miguel Ortega, David Palomar and Antonio Campos. Javier Barón’s dancing captured the hearts of the mainly French audience congregated at the Franciose Mitterand theater. Some two thousand people were thrilled by the variety of styles that were interpreted, from the cachucha, a wink at the bolero school of dance, even the jota, right up to tangos, soleá, fandangos, abandolao, siguiriyas and bulerías. The magic of Tomasito was the icing on the cake.
